Spray-Lock RFP Adhesive
Signals Defense is a certified distributor of Spray-Lock’s premium Fiberglass-Reinforced Panels (FRP) Spray Adhesive, a leading wall panel and rFoil installation application. With a working time of four hours and an instant grab that prevents sagging, the spray enables workers to spray out the work area and immediately focus on the panel or foil installation.
While purposefully designed for fiberglass-reinforced panels, the adhesive has been tested on and successfully works on a range of wall coverings, including non-fiberglass-reinforced panels, plastic and composite materials, and foils (such as Covertech’s rFoil®) Ultra NT Radiant Barrier Foil). Other materials applicable for use include plywood, drywall, metals and tile. It’s effective on both horizontal and vertical applications and requires up to 60 percent less adhesive material compared to conventional trowel-on adhesives.
Benefits of using Spray-Lock FRP Spray Adhesive compared to conventional trowel-on adhesives include:
- It’s proven to work with rFoil® radiant barrier foil
- It enables the installation of 30 percent more panels and uses up to 60 percent less adhesive compared to conventional adhesive products, allowing for increased productivity.
- It offers an instant grab that prevents tiles from sagging and a longer working time.
- It bonds approved wall and flooring materials vertically and horizontally. It can be applied directly to a wall or floor for instant grab. Approved materials include plywood, drywall, metal, FRP, tile, and foils.
- The water-based, acrylic blend is non-flammable, solvent-free, emits no harmful fumes or odors, and doesn’t contain any Volatile Organic Compounds. Because of this, it can be installed in occupied spaces.
- It features a dry time as fast as 10 minutes in certain conditions.
- 30 minute shelf life for unopened cans
- 20-40 minutes to dry/tack based on indoor climate
- Working time is 8 hours from the time the adhesive is tacked.
Applicable with RFoil®
Spray-Lock FRP Adhesive is also proven to work with rFoil® Ultra NT Radiant Barrier 1800 Series, when used on a substrate of concrete, wood, cinder block, sheet-rock or fire-treated plywood. Testing demonstrated a strong bond with acceptable peel and shear strength when the adhesive was applied according to the standard instructions and extended coverage of 100 square feet per can.

Spray-Lock Adhesive Application Instructions
Spray-Lock FRP Adhesive is also easy to apply. Here are step-by-step instructions:
- Clean the substrate before application. Use a damp cloth to remove any dust, debris or other surface contaminants. If the substrate
still releases dust following cleaning, prime it with a latex-based primer. Also, be sure to remove any grease with the appropriate
product, rinse and let the substrate dry thoroughly before adhesive applications. - Ensure the indoor environment is no cooler than 68 degrees Fahrenheit for 72 hours before application for best results.
- Shake the aerosol can thoroughly before application and then spray. Hold the can 18 to 24 inches from the substrate while applying.
- Following application, allow the adhesive to dry until there is zero transfer when it’s lightly touched.
- Follow the manufacturer’s directions for material application, as well as for sealing seams and corners.
